Unit 21 a top floor one bedroom apartment with a lock up garage, has sold in just 4 days to a first home buyer & owner occupier. Hamish Clayton and Samantha Shell from Abercrombys of Armadale helped put it all together.
Melbounre based creative studio Paphitis CI produces an innovative and unique reworking of unit 11 located on the second floor. Complete with modern day conveniences and high end living touch points, this re-working of the Grounds aesthetic creates a desirable high-end proposition for lovers of the Roy Grounds design ethos. Inspection by appointment only.
Stonnington Council has confirmed that their ongoing case against Architect Tony Lee’s led Moonbria committee for failing to apply for proper heritage overlay planning permits prior to commencing the 2021 front garden works, will be dropped.
Council noting that both the statute of limitations provision over the building and the existing garden foliage currently in place will rectify the breach naturally, negating the need for a VCAT hearing and bringing the case to a close. Stonnington Council has nominated Moonbria to the ‘Victorian Heritage Database’ as part of its ‘C320ston’ heritage overlay amendement. The council minutes note; NOMINATE 68 Mathoura Road, Toorak, 3 Glendye Court, Toorak and 31 Hampden Road, Armadale to be included on the Victorian Heritage Database. Moonbria welcomes another owner-occupier and her cat ‘Mimi’ to the building. Welcome Fiona, happy Christmas.
Can the tradies working at flat 11 clean up after they’re done, like daily! The walkways and common stairwells are covered in it and I’m walking their dust and crap through my flat! I’ve spoken with them twice now and “yeah yeah” we’ll clean it up but nothing, again. Not happy Jan! - B
Hi there! I'm Bea, the managing editor of The Design Files.
We have just launched a new series on the site where we feature historic or design-prominent apartment buildings around Australia and a few homes within! Most recently we've looked at The Cairo Flats, The Beverly Hills Apartments and The Carignal Flats. We would love to feature Moonbria! I was wondering whether you would be interested in helping us by perhaps pointing us in the direction of a few homeowners within that would be keen to do a shoot with us? Looking forward to hearing from you! All the best, Bea Looks way better, can you get the old boiler room engine taken away? it’s not serving any propose :) - MP
We hope this note finds you well. We have recently purchased unit 11 in this beautiful Roy Grounds block. We intend to gently refurbish the interior space respecting all historic attributes that remain. We apologise in advance for any trade-related noise that may occur briefly from Tuesday, March 15th to Friday, March 18th as we begin our works. If you have any questions or would like to get in touch, please give me a call. I look forward to meeting you in person soon. Jack Garner on behalf of Paphitis Paradox continued.
